Professional Learning Specialist (Expertise in Literacy Content Area)
Description: This position is responsible for coordinating, modeling, and implementing professional learning and instructional coaching activities with expertise in the content area of literacy to support school districts and schools in the region in alignment with high quality, researched-based best practices, and effective instructional strategies. Foster supportive and collaborative professional relationships with administrators, educators, and school personnel to enhance instructional practices and improve student outcomes. Provide analysis of student performance data and instructional needs to identify areas of professional development and instructional coaching support.
Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s Degree in Education
● Valid Illinois Professional Educator License required
● Master’s Degree preferred
● A minimum of three years of teaching experience in literacy
● Experience in leadership, coaching, or curriculum development role
● Proficiency in designing and delivering professional learning opportunities for adults in large and small group settings while incorporating best practices
● Demonstrate proficiency in the knowledge and utilization of technology to enhance professional learning and classroom instruction
● Demonstrate knowledge and implementation of exceptional classroom practices
● Ability to differentiate instruction to a wide range of learners
● Ability to work cohesively as a team
● Proficiency in exemplary classroom practices
● Exceptional written and oral communication skills
● Excellent interpersonal skills

● Strong analytical skills to analyze and interpret data
