The Responsibilities of the Regional Superintendent of Schools and the ROEs as stated in the Illinois School Code include:
Providing assurance to the public that the region’s schools comply with state laws, rules, and regulations.
Maintaining accurate records for internal and public inspection
Ensuring the quality of the region’s education in the areas of Educational Administration, Cooperation and Financial Management, Health and Life Safety, Public Relations and Transportation.
The RIROE is led by a team of hard-working education professionals to ensure that our region has the best possible resources.
The Regional Board of School Trustees is an elected board comprised of seven members. This elected board hears petitions for annexations, detachments and changes in school boundaries.
The RIROE is an intermediate education service between the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) and the local school districts.
