#9220 Gifted Education Seminar
This professional development is designed to assist classroom teachers in deepening their understanding of how to teach and reach gifted and talented students. The goal of the training is to:
1. identify gifted adn talented learners
2. create a learning environment to address gifted learners' diverse needs
3. measure gifted learners' growth in the classroom
4. explore the perspectives of the gifted
5. learn curriculum models
6. differentiate curriculum to accommodate various learning styles
Classroom Teachers will receive:
*Achieving Excellence Educating the Gifted and Talented by Karnes and Stephens
*Differentiation: Simplified, Realistic, and Effective by Bertie Kingore
*Cerificate of completion for the ISBE's Gifted Education Seminar
*Gifted Education USB drive
*45 CPDUs or 3 hour grad credit through Lindenwood University at an additional $200
The training model consists of: Twelve hours of face-to-face training and 33 hours of self-directed training, computer assisted, interactive using USB drive, electronic journaling, and complete a Differentiated lesson plan in the classroom and submit report.
