Application Requirements
Adults may apply to the Regional Superintendent of Schools Office in their county of residence provided they meet the following criteria:
- You must be 17 years of age or older.
- If you are 17 or 18 years old and have been in a public, private or home school in the past 12 months you will need an official drop letter showing your last date of attendance from the last school you attended.
- You must be a Rock Island County resident.
- You must have a valid Illinois State issued ID or Driver's License with your correct address.
- You must have $50.00 cash only.
Exceptions
An individual may be eligible to take the GED Test at 16 years of age only if they meet the following criteria:
- has maintained residence for thirty days in the State of Illlinois; and
- enrolled in an alternative education program under Section 2-3.81, 13A or 13B of the Illinois School Code; or
- enrolled in a youth education program under the Illinois Natoinal Guard (i.e., Lincoln's Challenge)
